Scott Hamilton

The 18th annual “An Evening with Scott Hamilton and Friends” ice show and gala will take place Saturday, Nov. 4, at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. Grammy Award winner Peter Cetera will provide the soundtrack for the experience, which features Olympic skating champions and medalists. All funds raised by the event support cancer research, education and survivorship programs at Cleveland Clinic’s Taussig Cancer Institute.

Tickets start at $32.50 and are available now through www.theQarena.com, Quicken Loans Arena Box Office, northern Ohio Discount Drug Mart locations or by calling 888.894.9424. Tickets to the black-tie gala dinner that will immediately follow the show are available by calling 216.445.0099 or emailing lindece@ccf.org.

Cetera was the singer, songwriter and bass player for the legendary rock group Chicago. In his time with the group, they recorded 18 albums, including hits such as “If You Leave Me Now,” “Hard to Say I’m Sorry,” “Baby What a Big Surprise” and “You’re the Inspiration.”

A solo artist since 1986, Cetera has recorded 10 CDs that include the Academy-Award-nominated song, “The Glory of Love” from the hit movie “The Karate Kid II”; “The Next Time I Fall” with Amy Grant; “Feels Like Heaven” with Chaka Kahn”; and “After All” with Cher. Cetera is currently touring with his seven-piece electric band, The Bad Daddies.

Skating to Cetera’s music will be reigning Olympic champion Meryl Davis, two-time Olympic Champion Ekaterina Gordeeva, two-time Olympic silver medalist Elvis Stojko, Olympic team bronze medalist Jeremy Abbott, Olympic bronze medalist Jeffrey Buttle, and World Champion Kimmie Meissner, among other decorated professional skaters.

Funds raised from “An Evening with Scott Hamilton & Friends” – founded in 1999 after Hamilton’s experience with testicular cancer and then a benign brain tumor – supports major programs at Cleveland Clinic: the 4th Angel Mentoring Program designed to match newly diagnosed patients with trained volunteers who are also cancer survivors as well as matching new caregivers with a mentor; Chemocare.com a unique website designed to help patients better understand the chemotherapy experience; and cancer research funding.

“An Evening with Scott Hamilton & Friends,” is presented by Medical Mutual of Ohio, and will kick off with an ice show at 5 p.m. at Quicken Loans Arena. The gala, hosted by philanthropist Maria Miller, immediately follows at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown hotel.
