Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital welcomes Ryan Dahlgren, MD, as Medical Director of Neuro Endovascular Surgery.

Under the Section of Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Neurosurgery, Dr. Dahlgren completed his Neuro Endovascular Surgical Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital, Dr. Dahlgren was at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach.

“I treat vascular pathologies of the brain and spine including brain aneurysms and arterial venous malformation of the brain,” explains Dr. Dahlgren. “Both advances in technology and endovascular surgical technique has allowed for previously unimaginable outcomes to now be the expectation of care. We pride ourselves in offering sophisticated treatments and surgeries to patients that are considered inoperable and for the outcome of those patients to be stellar.”

Dr. Dahlgren is an expert in endovascular treatment for acute stroke intervention, occlusive cerebrovascular disease, cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, gamma knife radiosurgery and other extra- and intra-cranial cerebrovascular diseases. In addition to cerebrovascular disorders, he has extensive experience in the management of skull base lesions (pre-operative embolization and test balloon occlusions), as well as functional testing (WADA testing), treatment of cranial facial vascular malformations, intra-arterial chemotherapy administration and percutaneous therapeutic spinal procedures.

Dr. Dahlgren has a distinguished academic career and has been honored as a National Merit Scholar, Oklahoma State Regents Scholar, Robert C. Byrd Scholar, David A. Burr Scholar and Boyd Foundation Scholar. He is an active member of the Society of Neuro Interventional Surgery and lecturer on Advanced Neuro Endovascular Surgical Techniques.
