Cleveland Clinic has been named among America’s Best Children’s Hospitals 2023 and America’s Best Cancer Hospitals 2023 by Newsweek magazine.

Cleveland Clinic Children’s was ranked nationally in six specialties on America’s Best Children’s Hospitals 2023 list, including:

  • Cardiology & cardiac surgery – No. 6
  • Endocrinology – No. 12
  • Gastroenterology & gastrointestinal surgery – No. 13
  • Neonatology – No. 16
  • Pulmonology & thoracic surgery – No. 25
  • Oncology & hematology – No. 36

Five Cleveland Clinic hospitals were named on America’s Best Cancer Hospitals 2023 list. Cleveland Clinic’s main campus ranks No. 6 in the nation, and was recognized for notable treatment in breast cancer, colon & rectal cancer, lung cancer and prostate cancer. The following Cleveland Clinic hospitals received national cancer rankings:

  • Cleveland Clinic Main Campus – No. 6
  • Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital – No. 95
  • Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital – No. 100
  • Cleveland Clinic Akron General – No. 136
  • Cleveland Clinic Florida, Weston – No. 138

The rankings — presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., an industry ranking provider — were created to provide patients and family members with a comprehensive resource for informed decision-making. This is the first time these rankings have been compiled and released.

The lists were calculated based on three data sources:

  • Nationwide Online Survey: Healthcare professionals and hospital managers with knowledge about pediatric care e.g., general, and specialized pediatricians and nurses were asked to recommend leading children’s hospitals in the US. Healthcare professionals and hospital managers with knowledge about oncology e.g., oncologists, hematologists, and oncology nurses were asked to recommend leading cancer hospitals in the US.
  • Hospital Quality Metrics: General hospital quality metrics as well as certifications and accreditations with a focus relevant to the specialties were considered for the children’s ranking. Hospital quality metrics with a focus on indicators relevant to oncology care were considered for the cancer ranking.
  • Results from Patient Surveys: Survey of patient experience during their hospitalization.
