At Cleveland Clinic Innovations, we are committed to advancing healthcare through strategic partnerships and innovative solutions. We are excited to share insights into a significant development in autism therapy technology. Floreo, a pioneering behavioral therapy virtual reality (VR) company specializing in diagnostics and assessment space for individuals with autism, has recently announced its acquisition of Autism Eyes, a Cleveland Clinic Innovations-owned autism diagnostics and assessment company. As part of the transaction, a representative of Cleveland Clinic will also join Floreo’s board of directors as an observer.

Floreo’s approach leverages immersive experiences to teach essential life skills and social behaviors in a safe and controlled environment for those with autism. This acquisition of Autism Eyes represents a strategic expansion of Floreo's capabilities, enhancing their ability to innovate and deliver even more impactful therapies. The existing diagnostic procedures are subjective and time-consuming, leading to substantial delays for patients.

"The rising incidence of autism demands cutting-edge technology solutions to help individuals and their families, and Cleveland Clinic remains committed to driving innovations in autism treatment and services," said Geoff Vince, PhD, Executive Director, Cleveland Clinic Innovations. "Floreo’s VR platform combined with the eye-tracking diagnostic capabilities of Autism Eyes will help build an integrated pathway tailored to each individual’s needs."

Autism Eyes brings valuable expertise and technology to Floreo's portfolio. Their platform, which utilizes eye-tracking technology to monitor and analyze user engagement and response during VR sessions, complements Floreo's existing offerings. This integration is expected to enhance the personalization and effectiveness of therapy sessions, providing clinicians with deeper insights into patient progress and needs.

This collaboration underscores the power of innovation and collaboration in driving meaningful advancements in healthcare. As partners in this journey, Cleveland Clinic Innovations continues to champion breakthrough technologies that make a difference.
