As one of the largest integrated heart centers in the world, Cleveland Clinic has long been recognized as a global leader in cardiovascular care.
Since the 1950s, Cleveland Clinic has been a pioneer in heart care, with its cardiologists and surgeons driving numerous breakthroughs in cardiology and heart surgery. These advancements include pivotal contributions to valve surgery, aorta surgery, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), coronary angiography, bypass surgery, and more. Beyond the development of new devices and therapies, Cleveland Clinic is at the forefront of cardiovascular research, continuously uncovering breakthroughs that shape the future of cardiac care. Last year alone, our Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute physicians published more than 900 peer-reviewed publications.
Cleveland Clinic is also one of the nation's highest volume cardiac surgical centers, performing over 5,600 heart surgeries last year. Over the years, Cleveland Clinic surgeons have also performed more than 4,500 mitral valve surgeries with a 0% mortality rate. In addition, Cleveland Clinic has received the highest overall composite score star rating, 3 of 3 stars, in all cardiothoracic procedures rated by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.

The annual rankings also placed Cleveland Clinic on its Best Hospitals Honor Roll, a distinction awarded to only 20 hospitals nationwide, in addition to naming Cleveland Clinic the No. 1 hospital in Ohio. Cleveland Clinic Weston is ranked as the No. 1 hospital in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale Metro Area.
