Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital has been designated as a Bronchiectasis and NTM Care Center Network (CCN) site by the Bronchiectasis and NTM Association. The designation is active as of March 2025.

“Patient-centered care is at the heart of our mission,” says Carla McWilliams, MD, chief of Infectious Disease, Quality and Safety at Cleveland Clinic in Florida. “This recognition reflects our commitment to providing the highest level of care for patients in the South Florida community living with bronchiectasis and nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) lung disease.”

The CCN designates sites that provide high-quality, specialized care for individuals living with bronchiectasis, a chronic lung disease characterized by enlarged, thickened or scarred airways, and NTM lung disease, a respiratory condition caused by environmental mycobacteria. Centers are either designated as a Care Center or a Clinical Associate Center, based on resources and infrastructure. The requirements are established by the CCN Steering Committee, comprised of leading experts in the field.

“Our collaborative and multidisciplinary model seamlessly integrates pulmonologists and infectious disease specialists to deliver high-quality, coordinated patient care and research that translates into faster diagnoses, improved treatment outcomes and enhanced patient experiences,” says Anas Hadeh, MD, co-director of the Bronchiectasis and NTM Center and director of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital.

Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital is one of 27 institutions nationwide recognized as a Bronchiectasis and NTM Care Center site and the only hospital in Florida with this designation.
