Program delivers measurable results for employers, including improved health outcomes and cost savings
Cleveland Clinic Employer Solutions is celebrating 15 years of enhancing employer-sponsored healthcare. Since launching its first Center of Excellence program in 2010, the health system has provided value-based, outcomes-driven care – helping employers nationwide reduce costs while enhancing the health and well-being of their workforce.
“For 15 years, Cleveland Clinic Employer Solutions has combined innovation, measurable outcomes, and employer partnerships to reshape healthcare delivery,” said Wesley Wolfe, vice president of network and payment strategies at Cleveland Clinic. “Our offerings are designed not only to improve access to high-quality care but also to offer tailored benefits solutions designed to boost employee retention and satisfaction. Looking ahead, we are poised to continue driving positive change in healthcare delivery.”
The Center of Excellence program began in 2010 with a focus on non-emergent heart surgeries for employers and has since expanded to address additional areas of care. In 2022, Cleveland Clinic introduced its Musculoskeletal Center of Excellence and Bariatric Center of Excellence, followed by its Cancer Center of Excellence in 2025. These offerings help employers to better manage healthcare costs while providing their employees and covered dependents access to care at Cleveland Clinic.
Cleveland Clinic’s commitment is to guiding patients toward the highest quality, most appropriate care – often helping them avoid unnecessary surgeries.
The impact of Cleveland Clinic Employer Solutions has been far-reaching, with accomplishments that include:
Over the past 15 years, Cleveland Clinic Employer Solutions has also expanded its suite of services to include bundled payment programs across multiple specialties, executive health exams for preventive care, clinical review services and virtual second opinions.
Clinical reviews involve Cleveland Clinic surgeons carefully evaluating an individual’s medical records. In some cases, these reviews lead to revised treatment plans, enabling patients to pursue less invasive options and avoid surgery. Virtual second opinions connect employees with Cleveland Clinic providers without the time and expense of travel. Input from experts from a range of specialties helps individuals make informed decisions about their care.
“Our solutions have grown and adapted alongside the changing needs of employers,” said Meghan Cassidy, senior director of sales and product development for network and payment strategies at Cleveland Clinic. “We believe the future will be shaped by AI-powered predictive care, enhanced value-based payment models with performance guarantees, and greater transparency and accountability to help employers navigate rising healthcare costs.”
