Kenny Loggins
LAS VEGAS: Keep Memory Alive will honor music legend Kenny Loggins at the 30th anniversary of the Power of Love® gala on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Tickets for the star-studded event benefiting Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health and its mission to advance brain health care and research are available now at keepmemoryalive.org/POL.
For three decades, the Power of Love gala has stood as Las Vegas’s signature philanthropic event, celebrating purpose, community and clinical excellence in support of brain health. What began in 1995 as a heartfelt memorial dinner at Wolfgang Puck’s Spago honoring Lou Ruvo, whose battle with Alzheimer’s inspired his family to turn pain into purpose, serendipitously evolved into a fundraising tradition that led to the first official Power of Love gala in 1996.
Anchored by their belief that “the most powerful word is love,” Lou’s son, Larry Ruvo, alongside his wife Camille, leveraged their hospitality background and the support from longtime collaborators such as Wolfgang Puck to transform the gala into an annual event that embraces the glamour of Las Vegas while delivering a marquee culinary and entertainment experience, all in support of brain health research and treatment.
“Celebrating 30 years of the Power of Love is deeply personal for me,” said Larry Ruvo, co-founder and chairman of Keep Memory Alive, the fundraising arm of the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. “When we hosted that first memorial dinner for my father, none of us imagined it would spark a movement. The generosity in that room, and the belief that love can change the world, became the foundation of the Power of Love gala and 30 years later, it has grown beyond anything we could have dreamed. To celebrate this milestone with Kenny Loggins, whose music has been the soundtrack of the past three decades of this event, makes this anniversary even more meaningful.”
From unforgettable moments—such as the impromptu 1996 “auctioning of nothing” that went for $25,000 and cemented the gala’s concept of giving from the heart—to honoring influential leaders within the Nevada community, including Bob and Lovee Arum, E. Parry Thomas, Mark Davis, Peter Bernhard, Sheldon and Miriam Adelson and William S. Boyd, the Power of Love gala has consistently celebrated those who uplift the community and advance awareness for brain health.
Today, the gala fuels the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health’s commitment to provide care that extends far beyond traditional insurance coverage. Funds raised support innovative research, medical training, and a robust suite of no-cost support and educational programs for patients and family caregivers. Since opening in 2009, these programs have welcomed more than 152,000 visits, offering everything from hands-on skill developing workshops and music therapy to educational seminars and access to the Lynn Ruffin-Smith library. The center has also facilitated more than 322,000 patient appointments and currently has more than 7,300 lives in its care.
The 30th anniversary event fittingly precedes National Caregiver Day, reflecting the organization’s deep commitment to supporting unpaid family caregivers, a legacy strengthened by the Angie Ruvo Endowed Caregiving Chair established in honor of Larry Ruvo’s mother and Lou Ruvo’s wife and caregiver, Angie, in 2019. This commitment is best expressed in the words of Camille Ruvo, who coined the phrase, “Until there’s a cure, there’s a caregiver.”
This year’s honoree, Kenny Loggins, has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, earned two Grammy Awards, and has created what many have called the “the soundtrack of our lives.” Over the last four decades, his chart-topping songs have included “This Is It,” “I’m Alright,” “Danger Zone,” and the iconic “Footloose,” which recently surpassed one billion streams on Spotify. In addition to his string of successful recordings, both solo and as a member of the famed duo Loggins & Messina, Loggins became the first major rock star to dedicate himself to recording music for children and families. His album “Return to Pooh Corner” remains the best-selling children’s album of the last 20 years.
The 30th anniversary gala continues its tradition of culinary excellence with chefs Wolfgang Puck and Charlie Palmer, joined for the first time by their sons Byron Lazaroff Puck and Reed Palmer, creating an exclusive menu that is a true family affair. Exceptional wine pairings will be curated by master sommeliers from Southern Glazer’s Beverage Company.
Camille and Larry Ruvo will also present the Community Leadership Award to Michael S. Meldman. Meldman is the founder and chairman of Discovery Land Company, an iconic international real estate developer and operator of private residential communities. Meldman and Discovery are recognized as having altered the Las Vegas real estate scene with the development of The Summit, one of the most exclusive communities in southern Nevada. Meldman also co-founded Casamigos alongside George Clooney, which sold to Diageo for $1 billion, was a founding investor in luxury athleisure brand Vuori, and became part owner of the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024.
