New partnership brings advanced orthopaedic, pain management and spine expertise together for Treasure Coast patients
Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital is expanding access to advanced orthopaedic, spine care, and physical therapy services on the Treasure Coast through the acquisition of the Orthopaedic Center of Vero Beach, one of the region’s most established orthopaedic practices.
The integration brings together the personalized care that local patients know and trust with Cleveland Clinic’s nationally recognized orthopaedic program. The combined team will offer comprehensive services, from joint replacement and sports medicine to specialized spine care including evaluation, non-surgical treatments, minimally invasive procedures, complex reconstruction and post operative rehabilitation, all in Indian River County. In addition, Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital will broaden access to physical therapy and rehabilitation services for patients with musculoskeletal ailments.
“This integration strengthens the exceptional orthopaedic and spine care already available in our community,” said Richard Rothman, MD, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital. “By bringing our teams together, we are enhancing collaboration across clinic, operating room and rehabilitation, expanding services and making sure patients continue to receive the highest quality care close to home.”
The physicians and staff of Orthopaedic Center of Vero Beach will continue serving patients at their existing office in Vero Beach while becoming part of Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital’s integrated system of care. Patients will benefit from shared electronic health records, streamlined referrals and direct access to orthopaedic and spine specialists across Cleveland Clinic’s five-hospital network in Florida.
“Our team has cared for generations of Treasure Coast families,” said Richard Steinfeld, MD, MBA. “Joining Cleveland Clinic allows us to expand our services, offer more minimally invasive options and coordinate rehabilitation so patients can return to their normal activities quickly and with confidence.”
“We continue to invest in Orthopaedics and Spine Care and have integrated cutting-edge robotic technology into our operating rooms to improve care for patients having hip and knee surgeries,” Dr. Rothman said. “For advanced shoulder procedures, we use augmented reality navigation systems,” Dr. Rothman explained. “Ensuring all orthopedic surgeons on the Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital medical staff can access these innovations, helps us provide the Treasure Coast community with the most up-to-date surgical care.”
