Dear Friends,
Every day across Cleveland Clinic in Florida, our caregivers are looking for better ways to care for patients and families. Some of the most meaningful advances in healthcare begin not with a breakthrough, but with a simple idea from a caregiver who sees an opportunity to make care safer, easier or more effective.
Thanks to supporters like you, those ideas have the opportunity to grow into real improvements for patients.
Your generosity helps create an environment where new ideas can thrive, giving caregivers the resources they need to test promising solutions, advance research and improve patient experience. Your support helps turn frontline insight into meaningful progress — improving care today while helping shape what is possible tomorrow.
This summer, that impact reached a meaningful milestone. Thanks to donor support, the Catalyst Grants program awarded $2.6 million to fund 43 caregiver-led projects, the largest number of grants in the program’s history. Each project reflects a practical, forward-thinking idea from caregivers working to improve patient care, advance research and strengthen the caregiver experience.
One example is a project led by Issa Ali, MD, at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital, focused on reducing unnecessary lab draws for patients who have already been medically discharged. By using electronic medical record automation and clinician education, Dr. Ali and his team aim to improve patient experience, support patient safety and reduce unnecessary costs and waste. It is a practical example of how a caregiver’s idea, made possible through philanthropy, can lead to meaningful improvements for patients and the healthcare system.
What makes the Catalyst Grants program so powerful is that it empowers the people closest to our patients to put good ideas into action. From improving clinical outcomes to finding more efficient ways to deliver care, these projects reflect the creativity, expertise and commitment of our caregivers.
On behalf of our caregivers and patients, thank you for making this record possible. Your investment is helping transform thoughtful ideas into meaningful advances that will benefit patients for years to come.
With gratitude,
Conor P. Delaney, MD, PhD
President, Cleveland Clinic Florida
