Cleveland Clinic is ranked among the top hospitals in the world for specialized care, including the No.1 hospital in the world for cardiac surgery and cardiology, according to Newsweek’s World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2023. In addition, Cleveland Clinic was ranked the No. 4 smart hospital in the world according to Newsweek’s World’s Best Smart Hospitals 2023, which Newsweek describes as hospitals that use state-of-the art technology to fundamentally rethink how care is delivered.

In March, Cleveland Clinic was named the No. 2 hospital in the world by Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2022 list.

Cleveland Clinic ranked among the world’s best in all 11 Newsweek categories, including eight in the Top 5 — cardiac surgery, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurology, neurosurgery, pulmonology and urology. Oncology, orthopedics and pediatrics were also ranked among the best in the world.

This is the second year in a row that Cleveland Clinic was ranked No. 1 for cardiac surgery.

“We are honored to be recognized by Newsweek as the world’s top hospital for heart care,” said Lars Svensson, M.D., Ph.D., chairman of Cleveland Clinic’s Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute. “This ranking reflects the expertise of our caregivers, who are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for our patients. Our team is committed to continued research and leading-edge innovations, which allow us to successfully care for even the most complex cardiovascular patients.”

In addition to main campus, the following Cleveland Clinic hospitals received national rankings:

  • Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi: Smart Hospital
  • Cleveland Clinic Akron General: Urology
  • Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital: Orthopedics and Urology
  • Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital: Cardiology, Oncology, Orthopedics, Urology, Smart Hospital
  • Cleveland Clinic Florida (Weston): Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Urology, Smart Hospital

Previously, Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital and Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital ranked among the top maternity hospitals according to Newsweek’s America’s Best Maternity Hospitals 2022.

The rankings, according to Newsweek, help those in need of care “to know which hospitals or state-of-the-art facilities have the most accomplished physicians and diagnosticians, and offer the highest level of care.”
