Cleveland Clinic Martin Health today announced that Rishi P. Singh, MD, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer (VP/CMO) of Cleveland Clinic Martin North and South Hospitals, will be departing the organization to assume the role of Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at Mass General Brigham, Boston, MA, effective Oct. 1, 2025.

“This is a meaningful and well-deserved opportunity for Dr. Singh,” said Conor Delaney, MD, PhD, CEO and President of the Cleveland Clinic Florida Market. “We are proud to see him take this next step in his distinguished career and are deeply grateful for the impact he has made on our patients, caregivers, and community.”

Since joining Cleveland Clinic in July 2005, Dr. Singh has been a driving force in advancing patient-centered care and strengthening the caregiver experience.

Under Dr. Singh’s leadership, Martin Health achieved or surpassed the 80th percentile in patient experience scores across all Emergency Departments, with the Martin North & South Hospital EDs earning the distinguished Lantern Award from the Emergency Nurses Association. The number of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and physicians grew to more than double, and significant philanthropic funds were raised to support the expansion of physical space in key areas such as cancer, pulmonary and outpatient services.

In addition to his leadership at Martin Health, Dr. Singh has served as a staff physician at the Cole Eye Institute and as Professor of Ophthalmology at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. He is widely recognized for his collaborative leadership style and unwavering commitment to clinical excellence.

Chirag Choudhary, MD, MBA, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital, will continue his role and in addition, serve as interim Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Cleveland Clinic Martin North and Martin South Hospitals.

“We thank Dr. Singh for his outstanding service and wish him continued success in this exciting new chapter,” added Dr. Delaney.
