Marymount

During the week of Dec. 12, Marymount Hospital hosted a special holiday drive called, “Helping Hands.” Employee volunteers from the Helping Hands committee prepared and distributed 180 holiday meal baskets throughout Garfield Heights and surrounding communities.

Meijer offered a hand up with all of the trimmings. Each holiday meal basket included a 10-pound frozen turkey, 3-pound bag of potatoes, fresh carrots, canned corn and green beans, stuffing mix, gravy and brownies.

“Seeing the happiness and excitement on the recipients’ faces as they received their packages was heartwarming,” said Renee Wheaton, Quality Management Coordinator at Marymount Hospital who co-leads the Helping Hands Committee. “It truly takes a village. The Helping Hands committee is very grateful to Meijer and every volunteer who helped make our holiday drive happen.”

For 40 years, Marymount Hospital has hosted its Helping Hands holiday drive to provide food and other essential items to families in need.
