The Student National Medical Association (SNMA) Chapter of Case Western Reserve University was selected as Chapter of the Year at the recent Annual Medical Education Conference (AMEC) in Hartford, Conn. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and engagement of the students as well as their service to the community. For the chapter to be recognized at a national level is a tremendous accomplishment.

“Our student engagement has also led to several students rising to regional leadership roles within the SNMA,” says Monica Yepes-Rios, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine and Assistant Dean of Diversity Equity and Inclusion for Students at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

The student leaders are:

  • Princess Ekpo (CCLCM ’26), Regional MAPS Liaison (two years in a row)
  • Temi Oladeji (CCLCM ’26), Regional Research Liaison
  • Mario Tcheukado (CCLCM ’26), Assistant Regional Director I
  • Andrea Arline (CWRU ’25), Regional Political Action Liaison (two years in a row)
