Experts from Cleveland Clinic’s international locations will be sharing their strategies for healthcare excellence and their knowledge of new treatments and medical research at Arab Health, the Middle East’s largest healthcare trade event taking place in Dubai, UAE, from January 29 to February 1.
The joint participation at Arab Health reflects the collaborative nature of Cleveland Clinic’s international operations, with facilities in the U.S., Canada, U.K., and UAE working together to improve patient care, and medical education and research. Cleveland Clinic’s presence in these countries has expanded rapidly over the past few years, now totaling 23 hospitals and more than 275 outpatient facilities. At the same time, the health system is further expanding its patient reach globally, with local representatives in 12 countries helping to coordinate care for medical travelers, and seeing strategic relationships forged with hospitals in Vietnam, Mexico and Chile.
“For more than 100 years, Cleveland Clinic has been at the forefront of medical innovation and specialized healthcare, and we aim to ensure greater access to quality care for as many people as possible around the world,” said Curtis Rimmerman, M.D., M.B.A., Cleveland Clinic Chairman International Operations. “Arab Health, as a global forum, presents an ideal opportunity to connect with international hospitals, healthcare organizations and physicians to share knowledge and best practices that can elevate the care delivered to their patients.”
Now in its 49th year, a significant reason for Arab Health’s continued popularity is its continuing medical education (CME) conferences. A total of 13 physicians from Cleveland Clinic’s U.S., UAE and U.K. locations will participate as speakers and activity directors in the 2024 conferences. Cleveland Clinic will also be providing CME accreditation for 10 of this year’s conferences, which ensures the content is unbiased, up to date, and adheres to all relevant international professional and ethical standards for education.
Every year, thousands of patients from around the world travel to Cleveland Clinic locations to receive complex care, which is often not readily available in their home countries. The care is coordinated by a dedicated Global Patient Services team, with an in-depth understanding of the cultural needs of different populations. Among Cleveland Clinic’s 81,000 employees worldwide are salaried physicians, researchers, registered nurses and advanced practice providers, representing 140 medical specialties and subspecialties.
Among the newer facilities that Cleveland Clinic will be highlighting at this year’s event are its Cleveland Clinic London neurorehabilitation center, offering advanced care for victims of strokes, brain injuries and complex conditions, as well as a second outpatient center, which opened in the UK capital at the end of last year.
