Neighbors Helping Neighbors Warrensville Heights

On June 4, Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital brought hearts and hands together for the 16th annual Neighbors Helping Neighbors event – an initiative that has become a cherished tradition in Warrensville Heights.

Nearly 60 volunteers – including hospital caregivers, Warrensville Heights City Councilwoman Andrea Mitchell, and partners from H&M Landscaping and Infinity Construction – came together to make a difference, one yard at a time.

With garden tools and smiles in tow, the team fanned out across the neighborhood, performing light landscaping work at nearly 50 homes. From weeding to pruning bushes and planting vibrant flowers, the volunteers transformed outdoor spaces while lifting spirits.

Launched in 2010, Neighbors Helping Neighbors focuses on supporting senior residents who may have difficulty keeping up with yard maintenance. It’s about more than just curb appeal – it’s about care, dignity and showing up for one another.

The project not only brightened the homes it touched but also deepened connections between neighbors, caregivers and the community they all call home. As the day came to a close, the freshly mulched flower beds and tidied lawns stood as an inspiring testament to what compassion in action can achieve.

For Cleveland Clinic, Neighbors Helping Neighbors is more than a day of service – it’s a promise to be a good neighbor all year long.
