Cleveland Clinic and Maria Shriver, founder of the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement (WAM), will co-host the Cleveland Clinic Global Women’s Health + WAM Forum on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland.

Building on the momentum of the sold-out inaugural event in 2025, this year’s forum will be held in a larger venue to expand opportunities for a dynamic, multigenerational day focused on advancing research, improving care and accelerating innovation in women’s health. New findings from a national survey on how women view their health and healthcare will also be shared during the forum.

The forum will be livestreamed globally and will feature expert-led conversations, panel discussions, interactive wellness experiences and a marketplace that showcases technology, products and programs focused on women’s health. Topics will include brain health, longevity, menopause, cardiovascular health and the future of women’s healthcare.

“Women experience health differently throughout their lives, yet too often their unique needs have been overlooked in research and care,” said Shriver, co-founder of the Cleveland Clinic Women’s Comprehensive Health and Research Center. “This forum brings leaders together to spark new ideas, share knowledge and shine a light on the importance of women’s health, especially when it comes to diseases like Alzheimer’s that affect so many women and families.”

The day-long program will bring together leading doctors and researchers from Cleveland Clinic as well as top medical and health experts from around the country, including:

  • Myechia Minter-Jordan, M.D., CEO, AARP
  • Becky Hutchinson, Accelerate the Care
  • Joanne Pike, DrPH, President and CEO, Alzheimer’s Association
  • Angela Zhou, Ph.D., CAS
  • Stacy Sims, Ph.D., Expert on Female Physiology & Training
  • Howard Schubiner, M.D., Freedom From Chronic Pain
  • Lisa Larkin, M.D., HERmedicine

Additional speakers and event features will be announced in the coming weeks.

“Advancing women’s health requires a comprehensive approach that recognizes how health needs evolve throughout adulthood,” said Beri Ridgeway, M.D., who also is a co-founder of the Cleveland Clinic Women’s Comprehensive Health and Research Center. “This forum reflects Cleveland Clinic’s commitment to advancing research, rethinking care delivery and improving health outcomes for women at every stage of life.”

The event will integrate the nationally recognized WAM Forum, adding a focus on women’s brain health and Alzheimer’s disease research — conditions that disproportionately affect women. Nearly two-thirds of Americans living with Alzheimer’s are women. During the forum, Shriver will announce the recipients of the 2026 WAM Research Grants given to scientists studying women’s brain health and Alzheimer’s prevention. She will also honor the winners of the WAM Awards for Leadership in Caregiving, Philanthropy and Corporate Giving.

The forum is supported by organizations and individuals committed to advancing women’s health, including CAS, a division of the American Chemical Society; Calla Lilly Clinical Care; and Karen Malkin Health Counseling.

Proceeds from the event will support the Cleveland Clinic Women’s Comprehensive Health and Research Center to help accelerate research, education and care for women.
