Hospitals recognized for safety, accountability and high-quality care

Six Cleveland Clinic hospitals are being recognized as top performers by Vizient, a national healthcare performance improvement company.
The recognitions are based on the hospitals’ performance in the Vizient Quality and Accountability Study, which measures performance on the quality of patient care across six domains: safety, mortality, effectiveness, efficiency, patient centeredness and variation in care. The study factors in measures from the Vizient Clinical Data Base and includes performance data from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey and the CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network. The recognition period is from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
Vizient ranks hospitals with peers in specified cohorts, and Cleveland Clinic’s awards were in the Bernard A. Birnbaum MD Quality and Accountability award category. 1,346 participating hospitals were segmented into seven cohorts for the Vizient Quality and Accountability Study.
The six Cleveland Clinic hospitals, along with the cohorts in which they are ranked, are:

Vizient is an independent data aggregator that provides data analytics and benchmarking to help health systems improve and standardize care. The awards – announced earlier this week at the 2026 Vizient Connections Summit in Las Vegas – are based on measures from the Vizient Clinical Data Base, the HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) survey, and the CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN).
