Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2017, CLEVELAND: “Cleveland Clinic CEO and President Dr. Toby Cosgrove’s image and comments from a City Club event were used on a political flyer related to Issue 2 inappropriately and out of context. Neither Dr. Cosgrove nor Cleveland Clinic have taken a position on Issue 2 and this was conducted without his (or our) knowledge or approval. We have demanded that those responsible immediately cease using Dr. Cosgrove or Cleveland Clinic in their communication materials.

As a non-profit organization, and a matter of longstanding practice, Dr. Cosgrove and Cleveland Clinic have rarely taken positions on ballot issues. ”
