Cleveland Clinic’s Office of Sustainability secured a $10,000 grant from the Cleveland Tree Coalition for the planting of eight trees at an elementary school in Cleveland’s Hough neighborhood.
In coordination with Famicos Foundation and Bartlett Tree, the tree planting took place Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Wade Park Elementary School.
Students from Wade Park learned about sustainability and the environment while being hands-on with planting, mulching and watering the trees.
Teachers, the school’s principal, community members and volunteers from Cleveland Clinic also attended the event.
Cleveland Clinic has been doing similar tree plantings since 2017. Wednesday marked the 13th planting.
