AKRON: Cleveland Clinic Akron General has named Kelli Saucerman-Howard, D.N.P., R.N., its new Chief Nursing Officer, effective June 19.
Saucerman-Howard brings 34 years of experience in nursing, quality, infection prevention, regulatory compliance and patient safety, and she has served at large academic health systems for over a decade.
“We are excited to have a talented nursing leader like Kelli direct our nursing staff and be part of our commitment to providing the best care, as well as being the best place for our nurses to work,” said Brian Harte, M.D., president of Akron General.
Saucerman-Howard is coming from Creighton University Medical Center-Bergan Mercy in Omaha, Neb., where she served as chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services. Previously, she was the associate chief nursing officer and vice president of quality at Regional One Health in Memphis, Tenn.
She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Beth-El College of Nursing at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, where she also earned a master’s degree in nursing. She received a doctorate in nursing practice from Creighton University.

She replaces Sheila Miller, D.N.P., R.N., M.B.A., who is now Chief Nursing Officer at Cleveland Clinic London.
