A significant construction milestone was achieved this week in Cleveland Clinic’s Cole Eye Institute expansion. Cleveland Clinic celebrated a topping out ceremony at the construction site with the final steel beam being secured at the top of the new Jeffrey and Patricia Cole Pavilion at Cole Eye Institute.

The beam was painted white and signed by many Cleveland Clinic leaders, Cole Eye Institute team members, and several philanthropic supporters of the expansion project. An American flag and an evergreen tree were placed on top of the beam as a tradition marking the symbolic completion of the structural phase of the building.

Cleveland Clinic broke ground on the new building in 2022. The project, which includes the 150,000-square-foot new addition along with renovation of the current 130,000-square-foot facility, is on schedule to be complete in late 2025.
