Cleveland Clinic Innovations portfolio company, Centerline Biomedical, Inc., has recently partnered with ORSIF, the organization for Occupational Radiation Safety in International Fluoroscopy, to promote awareness of technology solutions that enhance safety in medical environments where fluoroscopic x-ray radiation is utilized. In collaboration with ORSIF, Centerline aims to advocate for innovation in healthcare safety and provide educational resources on radiation safety to healthcare professionals and organizations. As a corporate partner, Centerline supports ORSIF's mission to raise awareness about radiation exposure risks and protect healthcare professionals.

Centerline Biomedical CEO, Gulam Khan, highlighted the significance of their IOPS® (Intra-Operative Positioning System) technology, which offers enhanced visualization and 3D navigation in endovascular procedures while minimizing reliance on harmful radiation. This innovative technology is designed to reduce radiation exposure during minimally invasive cardiovascular procedures and is gaining traction in the US healthcare landscape.

It utilizes software to create 3D maps of vascular anatomy, providing surgeons with high-resolution visualizations and electromagnetic tracking to guide catheters and guidewires, thereby decreasing the necessity for live fluoroscopic images produced using X-ray radiation during interventions.
