Cleveland Clinic has named Melissa Stoudmire, MSN, APRN-CNP, to the newly created position of Vice President, Advanced Practice Providers, effective Aug. 1.

In that role, Stoudmire will lead more than 3,600 advanced practice providers in Cleveland Clinic’s Ohio and Florida markets. Advanced practice providers include physician assistants, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, certified nurse midwives, certified registered nurse anesthetists and certified anesthesiologist assistants.

“Adding this leadership role for advanced practice providers is an example of Cleveland Clinic’s innovation and patients-first philosophy,” said Beri Ridgeway, M.D., Cleveland Clinic’s Enterprise Chief of Staff. “Melissa brings extensive experience in creating processes, building relationships among care teams and elevating advanced practice providers with our clinicians, scientists and nurses to enhance patient experience and outcomes.”

In the new role, she will collaborate with Cleveland Clinic institute and market leaders in all clinical areas to ensure consistent standards of care and patient experience.

Stoudmire has served as director of advanced practice providers since 2017 at Cleveland Clinic Akron General where she provided strategic, clinical and operational oversight. She also was responsible for the clinical oversight and collaborative operations of advanced practice providers in the Partners Physician Group outpatient practices.

Stoudmire received her master’s degree in nursing from Malone University in Northeast Ohio. She completed a leadership fellowship at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and Cleveland Clinic’s Executive Nursing Leadership Fellowship.
