Cleveland Clinic in Florida
Diego Sadler, MD, FACC, section head of cardio-oncology at Cleveland Clinic in Florida, has been appointed chair of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Cardio-Oncology Leadership Council. He began his three-year term in April.
“Cardio-oncology plays an important role in the cardiovascular health of individuals affected by cancer,” says Dr. Sadler. “I’m committed to advocating for this growing field and expanding opportunities for research, education, training and collaboration.”
In his leadership role with ACC, the professional home for clinicians and researchers transforming cardiovascular care and improving heart health, Dr. Sadler leads the Cardio-Oncology Section Leadership Council. The council provides guidance on advocacy and policy, fosters research collaborations, shapes educational pathways, and promotes best practices in clinical care.
As part of the Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute, cardio-oncology specialists at Cleveland Clinic in Florida provide comprehensive care for heart complications before, during and after cancer treatment. Dr. Sadler is section head of cardio-oncology at Cleveland Clinic in Florida, an associate professor of medicine at Case Western Reserve University, and serves on the American Heart Association Cardio-Oncology Subcommittee, the IC-OS Education Committee, and the board of directors of ACC’s Florida Chapter. He is also the principal investigator of the Global Cardio-Oncology Registry.
