LONDON: Cleveland Clinic London announced the appointment of Tiina Thornton, RN, as Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), effective, Nov. 1, 2025. Thornton will succeed Sheila A. Miller, DNP, MSN, MBA, RN, who will return to the health system in the United States.
Thornton, who currently serves as director of Nursing Quality and Professional Practice at Cleveland Clinic London, has been a key leader in the organization since joining in 2019 during the hospital’s early planning and activation stages. Her dedication, expertise, and visionary leadership have been instrumental in advancing nursing excellence and patient care standards across the institution.
Over the course of her tenure, Thornton has made significant contributions to Cleveland Clinic London’s mission, including partnering with philanthropy to support student nurse scholarships and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) fellowship program. She has also provided strategic leadership as Interim Director in London’s staffing office and ICU.

As Chief Nursing Officer, Thornton will oversee all aspects of nursing practice at Cleveland Clinic London, ensuring the delivery of world-class, patient-centered care while fostering innovation and professional growth among the nursing staff.

Miller will return to Cleveland later this year to take on the role of Associate Chief Nursing Officer of Ambulatory Services & Care Management.
