Cleveland Clinic Nevada has announced a $50,000 gift to support hunger relief efforts in Las Vegas, NV. The funding will benefit The Just One Project, a pillar in the community who shares Cleveland Clinic’s commitment to addressing food insecurity.
According to Feeding America, nearly half a million people across the state of Nevada face food insecurity, and 1 in 5 children lack enough food to grow up strong. The need spans income levels, with 70 percent of those experiencing hunger living above the poverty line. Without consistent access to nutritious meals, children may struggle to grow and learn, and adults face increased risks of chronic health conditions.
“Food insecurity is a reality for far too many families in Nevada,” said Dylan Wint, MD, medical director of Cleveland Clinic Nevada. “Access to healthy, nutritious food should never be out of reach. This donation to The Just One Project reflects our commitment to supporting our neighbors and removing barriers to better health for everyone in our community.”
This gift helps ease the burden for families facing food insecurity during a season when financial burdens mount and food needs grow more urgent. The $50,000 contribution enables The Just One Project to provide 21,150 meals to families, seniors and youth through programs that serve thousands of Southern Nevada residents with fresh groceries delivered to neighborhoods in need.
“We are incredibly grateful for Cleveland Clinic Nevada and their generosity,” said Brooke Neubauer, CEO of The Just One Project. “This support strengthens our systems approach to fighting food insecurity. Through our Food For All and Community Connect programs, we’re able to increase access to nutritious food, resources, and essential services for families across Southern Nevada. Donations like this allow us to show up for our community in deeper and more meaningful ways.”
Cleveland Clinic remains dedicated to advancing health through strategic community investments. Through this gift, Cleveland Clinic is reinforcing its commitment to support the well-being of the communities it serves.
“We’re proud to stand hand in hand with organizations dedicated to ending hunger,” said Vickie Johnson, Chief Community Officer at Cleveland Clinic. “Stronger partnerships mean stronger communities, and we know lasting changes happen when we work together. By expanding access to nutritious foods, we’re helping our neighbors nourish their bodies and minds.”
