Initiative brings clinical expertise, workplace screening and health education to support men’s health across the City
LONDON: Cleveland Clinic London is collaborating with Thrive4Life to support the Men’s Health Matters campaign, a City-wide initiative aimed at encouraging earlier action on men’s physical and mental health. The campaign brings together employers, clinicians and community partners to help translate England’s Men’s Health Strategy into practical, workplace-based support.
Cleveland Clinic London will play a central role in delivering expert-led health education and accessible prevention initiatives. The organisation’s consultants will contribute to a series of live and on-demand webinars addressing key health issues affecting men today, including cardiovascular health, cancer awareness, mental wellbeing and the importance of understanding key health indicators.
The campaign also includes in-person activity, with Cleveland Clinic London’s cardiology specialists providing free blood pressure and ECG checks at the Lloyd’s Building. These sessions are designed to make it easier for individuals to understand their health status and take early steps where needed, particularly for conditions that may otherwise go undetected.
The flagship launch event will feature a live interview with former professional rugby union player Ben Youngs, exploring pressure, performance and health. Representing Cleveland Clinic London, Dr Philip Batty, Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine, will join the discussion to provide clinical insight, helping to connect personal experience with wider themes around heart health, recognising warning signs, understanding personal risk and the importance of earlier intervention.
“Many of the most common health challenges affecting men can be better managed—or in some cases prevented—when identified early,” said Dr. Batty. “This campaign is about making it easier for people to engage with their health by bringing clinical expertise into the workplace. Our goal is to help more people recognise risk factors and take practical steps to protect their long-term health.”
Cleveland Clinic London’s involvement reflects its broader commitment to prevention, education and earlier intervention, particularly within the City of London. Through this collaboration, the organisation aims to help normalise conversations around men’s health and support more proactive engagement with healthcare services.
Content from the campaign, including the webinar series and launch event discussions, will be made available throughout the summer, extending access to expert guidance across the City and beyond.
