Nursing Boot Camp

More than 30 middle school students stepped into the role of nurses during Cleveland Clinic’s Launchpad to Nursing Boot Camp, gaining hands-on exposure to the nursing profession through interactive learning experiences.

Throughout the day, students rotated through clinical simulation stations designed to mirror real-world nursing responsibilities. Participants practiced conducting head-to-toe assessments, listened to heartbeats with stethoscopes, drew blood from simulation arms and collaborated to care for mock patients presenting various symptoms.

The immersive experience allowed students to see firsthand the critical role nurses play in patient care while building teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills. By engaging directly with nursing concepts and clinical scenarios, students gained a better understanding of the profession and the impact healthcare workers have on their communities.

Since its launch in 2024, Cleveland Clinic’s Launchpad to Nursing Boot Camp has introduced 391 middle and high school students to careers in nursing. The program is part of Cleveland Clinic’s ongoing commitment to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals and strengthen the future healthcare workforce in the communities it serves.

The event offered students an early glimpse into a rewarding career path, helping spark interest in healthcare and nursing at a formative stage in their educational journey.
