Audiologist Karen Petter, AuD, recognized a gap between existing auditory rehabilitation tools and the real-world needs of adults adjusting to cochlear implants. Working with Cleveland Clinic Innovations and eargym, developers of a smartphone-based hearing training app, she translated her clinical experience into an app-based auditory training program designed to provide guided, adaptable exercises that respond to individual patient progress.
The technology behind MediView XR, Inc., a Cleveland Clinic portfolio company, allows proceduralists to see 3D imaging of a patient’s anatomy during minimally invasive procedures. Philanthropic efforts are helping to bring the technology to more Cleveland Clinic patients.
In 2025, we reimagined what it means to partner with Cleveland Clinic Innovations and expanded the ways we bring innovations to patients at scale. In doing so, we saw 58 new license agreements and 207 new invention disclosures. We announced a collaboration with Khosla Ventures, one of Silicon Valley’s leading investors in healthcare commercialization and technology—an example of how we’re strategically connecting outside innovation to our world-class ecosystem of research, discovery and clinical talent.
