Cleveland Clinic Florida’s Maroone Cancer Center, located at the Weston Hospital, which ranked #1 in US News & World Report’s 2022-2023 Best Hospitals ranking, has received a three-year designation as a Center of Excellence by the Florida Department of Health. The recognition was given to signify the organization’s commitment to excellence in providing quality, comprehensive and patient-centered coordinated care.

“It is a tremendous honor to receive this recognition,” said Rodolfo J. Blandon, MD, MBA, President of Cleveland Clinic’s Weston Hospital. “Zeina Nahleh, MD, Director of the Maroone Cancer Center, and her team have worked tirelessly to make this achievement possible. They deserve credit for their dedication to providing leading-edge treatment, support, education and advocacy, not just for cancer patients, but also for their families as well.”

Created by the Florida Legislature in 2013, the Legislature recognizes hospitals, treatment centers, and other providers in the state which demonstrate excellence in patient-centered coordinated care for persons undergoing cancer treatment and therapy in Florida.

The goals are to encourage excellence in cancer care, attract and retain the best cancer care providers to the state, and help Florida providers be recognized nationally as a preferred destination for quality cancer care.

Cleveland Clinic Florida’s Maroone Cancer Center offers patients advanced diagnosis, innovative treatments and comprehensive management of many types of cancer. The treatment approach, which combines advanced research and technology with a multi-disciplinary team of physicians and specialists – including surgeons, pathologists, oncologists, radiation therapists, nurses, social workers and others – provides the highest quality, customized treatment option for each patient.
